Synopsis

The Death of Stalin is a black comedy that satirizes the sudden demise of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin and the ensuing chaos as his subordinates vie for power. The film satirizes the absurdity and brutality of Stalinist politics, portraying the ruthless maneuverings of Stalin's inner circle, including Nikita Khrushchev (played by Steve Buscemi) and Lavrentiy Beria (played by Simon Russell Beale), as they jockey for position in the aftermath of Stalin's death.
