Synopsis
Leap Year is a romantic comedy. Anna (played by Amy Adams) plans to propose to her boyfriend on February 29th, invoking an Irish tradition allowing women to propose on leap day. Traveling from Boston to meet her boyfriend, her plans go awry, leading her on a journey across Ireland with a surly innkeeper (played by Matthew Goode), where she discovers unexpected truths about love and herself.

Today, February 29th, is a leap day, added every 4 years to keep the calendar year roughly synchronized with the astronomical/seasonal year.
Due to February 29th being a relatively rare date, there aren't many movie-relevant dates, birthdays, or events. Leap Year is a romantic comedy that is about as predictable and formulaic as you'd expect, but is somewhat saved by the charms of Amy Adams.
