Steve Jobs

(2015)

Today in 1984, Steve Jobs introduces the Apple Macintosh.

Synopsis

Steve Jobs is a bio drama that unfolds in three acts, each centered around a product launch event. The film portrays the life and career of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs (played by Michael Fassbender). It explores Jobs' relationships with key people in his life, including his daughter, Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet), Steve Wozniak (Seth Rogen), and John Sculley (Jeff Daniels). The film delves into Jobs' complex personality, professional struggles, and his impact on the technology industry.

Why Today?

On January 24, 1984, Steve Jobs introduces the Macintosh during Apple's annual shareholders meeting, following the infamous 1984 Super Bowl teaser commercial a few days prior. This is the first act of the film Steve Jobs.

Like a previously chosen Aaron Sorkin biopic, Steve Jobs receives some criticism for being fictionalized. But it's still a very well executed film with great performances, especially by the Oscar-nominated Fassbender and Winslet.
